Story

I used my Celtic harp, and layered my own vocal harmonies to bring a different feel to this song. There were so many rich ideas to work with, but I stripped everything back and built up again. I wanted to convey yearning and so I changed the chord sequence to add drama with an operatic/classical edge, and used beatboxing to ground the track. The vocal layers I recorded at the start of the song are meant to sound organic, like thoughts and emotions brewing into wisdom. My harp arrangement is pensive and dreamlike, reflecting the lyrical woes, whilst still bringing forth strength. It's not a duet in it's regular from, but a meeting of two minds trying to understand an experience through music. All that aside, it's the first remix I've ever done but I'm really pleased with it, and I hope everyone who listens to it enjoys it, especially you Kimbra.
