查理士王獵犬原產地英國，起源於15世紀。多數權威認為它起源於日本或中國。很古老的品種，天然的貴族氣質，顯示了真正的高貴和王室風貌。長毛小獵犬在17世紀的歐洲宮廷很常見，騎士查理王犬常出現在當時的各種油畫中，深受英王查理一世和查理二世喜愛，因此以查理王命名。

The King Charles Spaniel originated in England and originated in the 15th century. Most authorities believe it originated in Japan or China. Very old breed, with a natural aristocratic temperament, showing true nobility and royalty. Long-haired terriers were very common in European courts in the 17th century. Cavalier King Charles dogs often appeared in various oil paintings at that time. They were loved by King Charles I and Charles II of England, so they were named after King Charles.
